چکیده

Patients with chronic open-angle glaucoma and others suspected of having glaucoma were subjected to continuous contrast threshold measurement by automatic and manual perimetric techniques. The results show that an increase of contrast threshold over time is a frequent finding in glaucoma patients and that this increment can be large, especially at points close to existing field defects. it is reproducible and independent of background illumination and can be demonstrated with both automatic and manual testing, but it is larger in the automatic than in the manual mode of testing. The results may have some important implications for visual field testing in glaucoma.

Automated Flicker Perimetry in Glaucoma and Retinal Detachment Patients

The authors studied the relationship between the critical fusion frequency (CFF) and the threshold value of differential light sensitivity in glaucoma and retinal detachment patients. One hundred and fifty eyes of 82 glaucoma patients and 27 eyes of 27 retinal detachment patients were examined by both light-sense perimetry, using the Octopus 201, and flicker perimetry, using the Octopus 1-2-3. ...

Peripapillary Intrachoroidal Cavitation and Optic Pit in a Case of High Myopia and Glaucoma

Purpose: To report a case of peripapillary intrachoroidal cavitation (choroidal schisis) and optic pit in a case of high myopia and open-angle glaucoma. Case report: A 30-year-old high myopic man was referred to our clinic for presumed peripapillary choroidal tumors. In funduscopy, there were two yellow-orange and slightly elevated peripapillary lesions in both eyes with indistinct margins. A s...

Depression and Quality of Life in Patients with Glaucoma

Purpose: To investigate the frequency of depression and quality of life in patients with glaucoma. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 204 patients (102 males and 102 females) with a mean age of 58.9±11.96 and a range of 40 to 85 years old. Achromatic perimetry was performed, using the HFA SITA-standard 24-2. Severity was stratified according to the Nelson Glaucoma Severity Scale (base...

Effect of cataract extraction on frequency doubling technology perimetry in patients with glaucoma.

AIM To evaluate the effect of cataract surgery on frequency doubling technology (FDT) perimetry in patients with co-existing cataract and glaucoma. METHODS In this consecutive prospective cohort study 27 patients with open angle glaucoma scheduled for cataract extraction alone or combined with trabeculectomy were enrolled. All patients underwent FDT threshold C-20 visual fields within 3 month...
